DGTLbase has been recognised by SBB as an official accredited training company for the MBO programmes Media Manager and Media Redactie Medewerker (Media Editorial Assistant).

There are internships, and then there are internships where you really learn something. At DGTLbase, we've always believed that the best way to learn the trade is simply by doing it. Alongside real clients, in a team of specialists, on projects that matter.

We're proud that we can now also prove this officially. DGTLbase has been recognised as an accredited training company by SBB for the MBO programmes Media Manager and Media Redactie Medewerker.

What do you learn here, and what does your working day actually look like? We'll take you through it in this blog.

What does SBB accreditation mean?

SBB, the Foundation for Cooperation on Vocational Education, Training and the Labour Market, assesses whether a company can offer MBO students the right supervision, work experience and learning environment. Accreditation isn't a formality. It means DGTLbase meets concrete requirements for supervision, learning objectives and working environment.

For schools, this means they can send their students to us with confidence. For students, it means their internship with us is officially recognised and fully in line with their programme.

What do you learn as a Media Manager or Media Redactie Medewerker at DGTLbase?

We're a digital marketing agency in Amsterdam, specialising in SEO, SEA, social advertising, content and AI. That means that as an intern you're not on the sidelines, but actively involved in the work.

As a Media Manager in training, you learn how to translate a marketing strategy into concrete campaigns. You work on client projects and learn how to analyse audiences, set up campaigns and interpret results. You gain insight into how an agency works, from client contact to reporting.

As a Media Redactie Medewerker in training, you learn how to create content that not only reads well but is also found. You write blogs, social posts and web copy for real brands. You learn what SEO means in practice, how to carry out a content strategy and how to tailor tone and style to different audiences.

In both cases, you work with the tools and techniques that are really used in the field today, from Google Ads to AI-assisted content creation.

Here, you don't just learn behind a desk

At DGTLbase, we believe in learning by doing, but also in learning from each other. During our regular lunch sessions, colleagues share the latest updates from the field. That might be a short demo of a new Google product, or a discussion about the right strategy for a client. As an intern, you simply join in.

You sit next to specialists with years of experience in SEO, advertising, content and strategy. That knowledge isn't locked away in a manual; it's sitting right next to you at the table, or a message away from the home office.

What does your working day look like with us?

To be honest: different from what you might be used to.

We work hybrid. You decide where you work, as long as you're available for meetings and stand-ups. Prefer to be at home? Fine. Rather be in the office in Amsterdam? Also fine. We don't make a fuss about your workplace or your working hours, as long as the work gets done and the collaboration runs smoothly. We make clear agreements for a good working relationship.

In the office, you'll find a team that works with enjoyment and drive. Alongside projects, meetings and presentations, there's also room for drinks, team outings and a game of ping-pong. We celebrate successes, sometimes with a glass of champagne, sometimes with a cocktail party and a great DJ. The balance between work and fun isn't a side issue for us; it's part of how we work.

Inclusivity isn't an empty term for us. Everyone, regardless of background or experience, is treated with respect. Your time, knowledge and passion are taken seriously. We care.

What makes an internship at a digital marketing agency different from an in-house internship at a company?
