Add User to Google Tag Manager: Explained

In this article, you can read about how you can add a new user to your google tag manager account and container permissions. Users may be given the ability to view or manage other users at the account level. In addition, new users can be given different user permissions to benefit from.


Step 1

Log in to Google Tag Manager.


Step 2

Add new user

  • Choose which account you want to add a new user to.
  • Click on the gear (top right).

  • Now you land on the page of the chosen account. You can now add a new user at the account or container level. You can add users at the account level, so they can see all containers under that account, or at the container level, so the new user can only see a specific container). 
  • Click on ‘Manage users’ (User Management).

  • Click on ‘+’ in the top right and then on ‘Add users’.
  • Enter the email address of the new user.
  • Determine which role the new user will get.


Step 3

Done! You have now successfully added a new user to your Google Tag Manager account.
